Atlanta-based Consultancy Commits to Fortifying Firm to Capitalize on 3 Years’ Growth
As it closes in on marking its fourth anniversary in the competitive Atlanta tech market, Cumberland Group today announced a new addition to its leadership team with IT and enterprise sales veteran Randall Gressett. The hire comes in the midst of several successful months for the advisory and services firm that launched in October 2014.
Gressett, who began his career as a systems engineer, joins Cumberland Group after 17 years in various leadership capacities at EMC. He stood out for his acumen with both technical/enterprise sales and problem solving, said Cumberland Group President and Co-founder Ken Snuggs.
“Randall’s proven leadership in IT infrastructure, sales, and consulting makes him an excellent fit for us at this point in our trajectory,” Snuggs said. “We’ve staked our claim in partnering with our clients to help them navigate successfully through their business and digital transformation objectives, and Randall’s intuition and expertise will prove tremendously beneficial as we capitalize on our growth and look toward the future.”
Gressett said he was attracted to Cumberland Group because of its commitment to strategic growth that has emphasized resources and substance over just numbers.
“The nimbleness of a small business coupled with the talent level of Cumberland Group provides an extremely valuable set of capabilities for clients,” Gressett said. “That is very attractive to me, and I’m looking forward to helping clients reimagine their businesses with technology as the foundation of the enterprise and the customer engagement process.”
Since its launch, Cumberland Group has experienced substantial growth companywide, including personnel, office space, and industry recognition. In four years, the firm has increased its overall staff by almost 80 percent and more than doubled its stable of engineering talent since 2015. Additionally, the company is currently in the process of adding 5,000 more square feet to the existing 12,000 of its Atlanta headquarters. This comes eight months after announcing it had expanded its Southeastern presence with a new office in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. And in March, The Atlanta Journal Constitution named Cumberland Group a Top 5 Workplace in its annual list of 150 metro-area employers.
“All of this is a testament to determination and hard work, but there’s no resting on laurels here.” Snuggs said. “We’re constantly looking for ways to improve how we interact with and produce results for our customers, so we’ll keep our eyes on that prize.”
